ACTIVITIES
A festival village is settled down in Bebek with the biggest yacht race organizations of Turkey in 20th June, 2010. Besides the races all day long, there were stands for social activities. A stand was given to our shelter with the organization of Banu who is one of our mothers. After our traditional Sunday brunch and mini bazaar activity in our shelter, we headed to Bebek with Gizem. Banu was at the stand in the morning. Our stand was decorated with our
Yedikule t-shirts. Also, special Ottoman cookies and jams which are prepared by Batur papa were put in the stand. We had a cheerful day with a lot of music and dancing and ended with a rain cats and dogs.
We ignored the rain and gave out the pamphlets of our shelter. We had a nice day by the conribution of our friends who buy the products of our shelter. The street dogs of Bebek never let us alone. I suppose they understood that we are coming from the shelter. We thank to all our friends who shop from our stand and support us.

Visit of Communications Group
From Communication Group our friend Gonca Gökçek, we have blissfully completed our 6th shelter visit activity on Saturday, 12th June 2010.
Different from the other ones, the bazaar stand which is usually set up on Sundays, was also set up for the communication group on Saturday. We had cheerful chats with the participants about animal consciousness and our mission, and also support them by buying stuff. Our joy doubled with the delicious foods and beverages served. We and our dog friends had full stomachs.
Our dear friends who accompany us that day are;

Yeşim Cizrelioğlu, Ahmet Cizrelioğlu, Ceren Şirin, Buket Özbekle, Nihan Cuylan, Evren Subaş , Nazan Kutlubey and Nihan Temizel.
We want to thank Architect Meral Olcay, the volunteer manager of Yedikule Animal Shelter who gives us full support in every activity, to 2700 dogs and all the volunteers. Our happiness doubled when our supportes Kendi adopted a dog from the shelter. We wish the same for all our friends in the shelter. We want to thank unknown heroes who spare time for the dogs in the shelter, supporting financially and morally.
We grow all together.

A family of market fare
Our brunch and mini bazaar activity continues between 11:00 to17:00 every Saturday and Sunday till September.
The number of our visitors on Sundays are increasing and this naturally makes us very happy.
Adem and Angie following us from our web site who live in Holland were here in Turkey for their vacation.
They visited the shelter for meeting us. We have a nice chat with them and share our opinions. A nice surprise was waiting for me. My dearest friends Manolya, Batu ve Nilay from
Sehremini Highschool Alumni Association were here for visiting. I was very surprised and happy as we did not see eachother for a very long time.
Families with children are in high quantity. Our dog friends are modelling in front of the stands.

Teeny Voluntary of Yedikule
Visitors bring their children with them and this makes us and our dogs very happy. First contact is very important for the children to gain animal love and communicate with them.
We want to create the opportunity for this communication by our mini bazaar and brunch every Sunday.
While grown ups doing stuff like shopping, children play with our dogs in front of our shelter. Our lovely little girl left her mother and directly go to the doghouse to play with Jen. It was
very interesting. Jen did not care a bit as he was sleeping, because Jen still trusts people, is given great affection in yedikule and has a self esteem. Our little girl knows that animals are in need of love and they are harmless.

After the Bebek festivities
As Yedikule family we were in Bebek festival. A beautiful stand was given to our shelter by the organization of our volunteer mother Banu.
We shared jobs because we also had our brunch and mini bazaar in our shelter. Some of us has to be in the shelter and others in the festival. In the festival lasting in 3 days, Sibel and Petro took the first day, Petra and Sibel the second day, Derya, Yasemin, teo, Talu, Kadir and Gizem the third day.
We introduced our shelter to the visitors, gave pamphlets and had the chance to buy products of Yedikule brand.
At the end of the day, we celebrated the activity. We are aware that we stand united we are stronger.
And we invite all animal lovers to unite. All our efforts are for needy animals.
